Wow. Great pics on the works. I have two questions. The first one is what is the Aagora? Aand the second one is is the not started side od the roof on the main stadium going to be ready to be moved into place by the Aapr. 28th date. It took the first side over a month I think they might really have to hurry for this one. But I have to say those are some great photos1. |

The Agora is the enclosed promenade along the north side of the Olympic Complex. See this page to get a picture: www.stadia.gr/oaka-new.html.
Also, read below a description from the website of the Hellenic Olympic Committee:
The Agora, a large promenade arcade, will work to shade the pedestrian path that winds through the Complex. The Agora will also act as a central hub, connecting these facilities to various venues, such as the Olympic Stadium, the Tennis Courts and the Velodrome. Situated between the Agora and the tree promenade is a slightly sloped area that will be transformed into an Amphi-theatre-like central plaza and used for shows and theatre events. |

Is it a mirage or am what I am seeing from the other side of the OAKA roof really the scales on the other side starting to come up?! Well thats good. I'm glad to see theat the first half is pretty much done and the second half is coming along. I think. Now the only challenge is to get it done by April 28th. |

It's not a mirage..They have started connecting the beams that will make up the roof on the second arch and they are going pretty fast if you ask me...way quicker than they were on the first arch.. |

The roof has not been moved into place. The shceduled time frame is some timw within the next fwe weeks, but so no time is wasted they have started to assemble the glass panels on the roof. The roof looks like it will be done on time. Lets pary this is no Montreal '76 when the main Olympic stadium as well as other venues weren't done and the city was still full of cranes. |

Gocaps 75 is right, they have started fitting the blue coloured glass onto the structure before moving it into place to save time. Apparently they are hoping to start moving it on Sunday. |

As a new member of this forum, I just wanted to say that I appreciate the new information and photos on the OAKA stadium sites. I'm going to be in Athens for the Olympics and I can't wait to see the finished results. This forum is the best source for up-to-date photos of OAKA on the internet!

I was surprised to see that they had started placing the panels on the roof. One would imagine that the wind would make the movement of the roof more complicated with the panels in plane. Everyone can imagine that extremely strong winds cold destabilize the roof when in movement since it is not secured to the ground. |
